Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, working in the round, Provisional cast on, I-cord, double knitting

As part of preparation for the class, there is a small homework .

Please make an I-cord using your chosen string colour, which should reflect the colours of the stem and leaf of the grapefruit.

How to make an I-cord :

3.25 mm (US3) double pointed needles (dpns)

Cast on 3 stitches.
1) knit stitches on dpn normally,
2) slide the stitches from one end of dpn to the other
3) without turning dpn, place the dpn on your left hand
4) pulling the yarn so that it is snug, knit stitches from left to the right dpn
Repeat these 4 steps until it measures about 40 -45 cm

3.25 mm (US3) & 4.0 mm (US6) double pointed needles or similar sizes you have. Green yarn and yarn for the fruit.
